
Ivor Lensworth Livingston, Ph.D.,
M.P.H., C.H.E.S. is the Founder and President of the StressHealth
Institute International, or SHII, with main offices located in
Olney, Maryland, U.S.A. SHII is a four-year old company
established in January of 1997. There
are
affiliate offices in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and Kingston,
Jamaica, West Indies. All activities of SHII that are carried

Dr. Livingston, who successfully completed his educational
studies at three of the leading institutions in the United
States, Howard University (Ph.D. - with specializations in
Medical Sociology and Social Psychology), the School of Public
Health at Harvard University (M.P.H. - with a emphasis on the
Behavioral Sciences, Cardiovascular, Nutritional, Occupational
and Mental Health Epidemiology, Epidemiology, Biostatistics and
International Health) and t he School of Hygiene at John Hopkins
University (Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Cardiovascular Social
Epidemiology), is a nationally and internationally known expert
on stress, stress mrch on stress
and writing
Dr. Livingston has presented scholarly research
papers and conducted stress management seminars and workshops in
the United States (e.g., in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Silver
Spring, Maryland; Long Beach, California; Lincoln, Nebraska;
Rosyln, Virginia, Washington, D.C.; and Honolulu, Hawaii), as
well as overseas, mainly to multinational corporations in the
English-speaking Caribbean (e.g., Jamaica).
The basic goal of SHII is to enhance human health and
performance, primarily in work or organizational settings, a s
well as other areas of human activity (e.g., at schools, on the
road and in the pursuit of leisure, such as vacations). The
guiding philosophy of SHII is four-fold regarding stress and its
relationship to health, (1) to depart knowledge, (2) to
change perceptions, (3) to implement and practice good skills
